Default Pipe Banner, 2nd Bn, R. Inniskilling Fusiliers

A recent addition to my collection, and so far outside my usual focus I still question why I did it*. It’s in superb condition, with no stains, nicks, or runs to the silk. I gently untangled some of the metallic thread fringe and I may use a hand steamer to knock out some wrinkles, but otherwise it’s nearly perfect.

I would be interested if any Forum members can confirm when it would have been in service. It was listed as dating from the Great War but I have been unable to find any information on the subject.

*...because it needed a good home, and the price was right.

Forum member irishhorse contacted the museum (he saw it in the auction listing) but hasn’t heard from them. I will try them myself. In the meantime, I’m hoping the incredible knowledge base of the forum might turn something up!
