1 Wilts VRC - ID Please
First posted this item yesterday (here), but hoping to generate a wider response by starting a separate thread.
Any suggestions as to what the item pictured below might be, please? VRC 1.jpgVRC 2.jpgVRC 3.jpg Measuring 23mm in diameter, it looks as though it might possibly be a w/m button in mid-fabrication, but this unit's insignia is not really within my general sphere of interest, so hoping a Wilts and/or button buff can help. Another suggestion put forward by Brian (Fatherofthree), is that it might be a button-badge, possibly worn in the lapel by recruits prior to being issued with badges/uniforms. Any assistance greatly appreciated. With thanks, Peter. |

This design is not shown in " Rifle Volunteer Buttons 1859-1908 " by Ripley and Darmanin so may not be a uniform button.
P.B.

Have you considered a WW1 Volunteer unit?

I had not, Alan. Thanks for the suggestion.
