Default Victorian Volunteers Artillery w/m with plume holder

Hi gents, after my run in with Mollys1601 dispute, empty envelope no badges! RESTRIKE HELMET PLATES to be sure! I would like to run this past you please, has dealer "British Military Badges" got a good or bad reputation?

He has a booklet on the Machine Gun Corps by the Military Historical Society for sale priced very reasonably at £24.99, now isn't that a reason to Join! so you acquire these brilliant books for free within your membership subscription! And! at less this booklets advertised price!

The badge is:- a Victorian Royal Artillery Regiment Volunteers Busby Plume Cap Badge, it is missing its slider and to be fair this was mentioned and I didn't take notice of it!

I trust it is good, have not attempted to clean it but would expect it to come up good if real, would these be Silver? Most importantly is this a good badge many thanks as always Billy

Billy,

Firstly BMB has been discussed on here before. The concensus is that his badges are all excessively expensive, they are a mixture of good and bad, he doesnt know much about badges, bargains can be had as a result, he uses a 'ghost' postal address.

Secondly your badge. Its not silver, its white metal because its an Other ranks version. Its very common and I sell them for about £35-£40 when I have them on ebay. I would never buy that one because half of its missing, ie the rear attachment.

If it was more then £15-£20 then you have paid too much.

regards

Billy, actually, I quite like your badge and it intrigues me that the dark colour seems uniform all over. Try cleaning it gently, (try the back first). There are many variations of the O.R.s as well as the Officer’s types. For some sample variations, go to my albums and check my “Volunteer Artillery” badges to see front and rear views. Do not despair about the missing tang, you may find someone in the future who can make you a good repair. All the Best, David J.
