Default Natal Medical Corps collars

Hi All,

couldn't resist this pair of beauties - Officers silver and gilt collar badges of the Natal Medical Corps. Very little info on the net regarding the corps and nothing I can find on their insignia. 1 replaced lug unfortunately. Can anyone tell me a bit more about them ie when worn and if they are scarce ?

Much appreciated,

Mark

NMC 1903 - 1912/3

Officers bi-metal badges are super rare. Only seen two other sets in 40 years of collecting. There is a larger cap badge that would go with these.
I am still to find a set for my own collection.

OR's had normal brass badges (large slouch hat badge, cap badge and smaller collar badges and NMC shoulder title)

They appear to be Silver/gilt rather than bi-metal?
