I joined the Army in 1958 and was posted to the Depot, Lichfield for basic training. The depot served both the North and South Staffords. Recruits were assigned to the Regiments according to where enlistment had been conducted ie Stoke on Trent meant the North Staffords. I was issued with , and wore, a North Staffords a/a cap badge and I will dig out a photo to prove it. After basic training I progressed to MONS OCS - 3 or 4 months later amalgamation had taken place and I was a Stafford.

I have a pair of Staffords collar dogs picked up around 1979 from 1 Staffs QM's Stores I think it was (or possibly a 1 Staffs squaddie gave them to me), they're backed with brown paper cut from an envelope.
