Thank You
I know this has proably been asked for and turned down for various reasons but could we have a thank you box that we can tick on individual posts ?, personally i like the idea that you can thank someone for taking the time posting something that is interesting or of some use to you without bogging down what could be a 3 post thread with 50 thank you posts if all those who wanted to did.
Thank you Andy |

A good idea,
Perhaps an icon added to the rating function in the top margin? Andy |

Bottom of every post, not thread as you can thank the person for starting the thread if you wanted.

I see your point, and agree this could be a useful function. In principle. But are there really that many threads getting bogged down with "thank you's"? Personally, I prefer addressing the individual who has contributed and acknowledging that in words seems more respectful than simply ticking a box? On the flip side, maybe more members would show appreciation if they could tick a box instead of posting, and would actually give a better idea of how many members have appreciated the info/help/advice given? I just know that every so often I might post some inane comment on Facebook, only to find 100+ "likes" the next day. I don't even consider them anymore - because I know people often click out of habit, or politeness. For now, I'll stick to personally thanking individuals who have taken the time and effort to share their opinions and expertise. It's nothing I take for granted. Cheers Colin

I did raise this subject not long after I'd joined but too many spoke out against it. I'd like to give my support to this suggestion.

If we had a "like" box I'd tick it on all of the above .... :-)
Sometimes you just like what has been said by others and don't wish to hinder a conversation thats going on. |

As this thread has been going on for 2 days And 241 views now and there aren't any major objections may I ask Mike to spend the 2 minuets it takes to add this feature to give a little THANK YOU that would otherwise not be given?.
This of course does not mean you can't reply with a thank you post if you want or give the excuse not to give a reply thank you if you have asked the forum members for help for any reason as it should still be done out of courtesy. Andy |

It took me 10 mins to find the hack and one hour reading the problems others have had with it for starters! and I've not added it yet - I guess I'm just slow! |

No panic Mike! As I understand it a "minuet" is meant to be slow and graceful. You will probably need some time to do the 2 minuets. I Man |

I just thanked Mike for adding this - but that's too subtle for this - so wanted to do it publicly!
cheers, Andy
