Default ZAR letters

Hi Andrew,
Here is the photo of the Boer hat from my picture file.
That Boer belt would have to be extremely rare. It is about the sixth pattern I have seen. While I am on the subject, here is an other exotic type buckle. I don't have Owen's book so don't know much about them.

New Westminster Rifle Volunteers, circa 1863. Only known example, but I'd like to be proven wrong.

Phil, your badge is for a volunteer company in New Westminster British Columbia?
(Does Clive Law have an image of this badge? It should be in the revision of the Pre-1914 badge book in the works.)

They preceded The New Westminster Rifle Company/No 1 Company New Westminster Rifles.
