Looks like the end of the line for this society, shame.

My letter arrived today, due to the problems the Committee has been and is having it was decided to end the society. No 2019 subscriptions have been taken.

That is truly a great shame.

This is the first I have heard of any issues and I may be out of the loop being overseas but I can't help thinking that it may have been prudent to speak to the membership first and solicit help/ideas for maintaining the society before just packing it in.

But as said I'm out of the loop so maybe this was already done?

Not happy at all about this.

Roy

Hello all

As I understand it, no decision has yet been taken, the matter is to go before the Annual General Meeting in April. The Committee, who will have considered all options, will be making a recommendation that the Society should close due to problems over editorship of the Journal and finding members to take on important roles such as Treasurer. We have been in or close to this situation before when there have not been enough members willing or able to take on these roles.

No doubt the letter announcing this has not yet got to you in the States, Roy but it will be on its way, I'm sure.

Roger

Hi Roger,

Thanks for that clarification and I hope any issues can get resolved.

Cheers,

Roy

My apologies for the misleading information, excuse none really, just did not read the text correctly.
