Default Unknown NZ formation sign

Hello Gentlemen,

Can someone kindly tell me the unit and time period represented by this badge? I purchased it in New Zealand about 1985.

Hi Dob,
According to Malcolm Thomas and Cliff Lord's books, New Zealand Army Distinguishing Patches 1911-1991:

Your patch dates from 31 January 1974 when New Zealand Force South East Asia (NZFORSEA) was a Singapore based tri-service military Force.

Also worn by New Zealand Defence Support Unit (South East Asia) formed 1 October 1989 in Singapore.

And also worn by other NZ peacekeeping forces since.

Cheers, Tinto

No longer worn by NZDF but is still worn by the guards at Sembawang, Singapore.

To the best of my knowledge there was no WWII New Zealand formation sign, or so I've been told...
