Silver? Officers? Modern copy or period.
Took a punt on this badge for £10 on eBay in the hope it was a silver cast badge.
It polishes up like silver ( I do not have a test kit), The back also polished up even though it is rough. Is it another modern copy or a proper officers badge? Any one have anything similar? Cheers John |

awful fake I am afraid. The genuine officers badges were very high quality.

Thanks Alan, the lugs look brand new too. Must get a test kit as it appears solid silver rather than white metal (I can be wrong there), seems strange to make a silver copy, rather expensive.
Thanks John |

Seaforth officer badges were of a very different design as well, being multi-piece and the head cast in 3D.

Should look like this one. Supplied by William Anderson & Sons, Military Outfitters of Edinburgh.

That cast one looks like it could be Indian made.

John, it looks like one part of a Queens Own Highlanders cap badge, but cast in metal. Has the thistle and laurel missing between the stag horns.
