Default Border Regiment Shoulder Designation

Continued from the other thread, "Border Tab".

I have been back to the different sources and can now correct my error.

The entries I looked at did not refer to the coloured Unofficial 1st Bn., designation.

In 1953 the 1st Battalion's unofficial coloured designation was officially introduced for the The Border Regiment but got the colour of the thread used to join the two arcs wrong, (yellow) the same applied to the ACF designation.

Therefore in 1956 the mistake was rectified by the introduction of the same
worded designation (with different Pattern and Catalogue numbers) in the correct colours, which included the thread colour of green, although slightly different shades as those worn by the 1st Battalion in WW2.

My apologises to all.
Marc
