Default 1st Armoured Motor Battery Cap Badge

Can I have your thoughts on this 1st Armoured Motor Battery Cap Badge
I have never had one of these before the lugs are brass.

It does look rather crude.

Here is one I believe is correct for comparison - with a knackered slider.

I was under the impression these were worn as collar badges by officers only ?

Mine is also a J & Co. example.

No definitely worn by OR I have a period photo of it in wear
