Default HELP! Can anyone identify this cap badge

Can anyone help identify this cap badge/ uniform/ redgiment. We believe he was either stationed or passed through Scotland and think he went to Ghent Belgium during the Second World War. He is a long lost family member and we only know he's firts name was Walter.

Only thing I can add is that the third image, of the march past, was made somewhere in the Netherlands. A larger city because of the street car tracks.

Default Engineers?

From first glance the cap badge looks like a Royal Engineers, but looking at the left hand BD blouse pocket there is a small ribbon above it with a device superimposed on it which could be a maple leaf, so my guess Canadian Engineers.

The medal is the Canadian Volunteer Service medal and the maple leaf indicates overseas service
