Default unknown badge

Good evening,

a French collector has found a British tank crew helmet dated 1944 with this painted badge. Do you have any idea about it ? Thank you

Default Unknown emblem

I held off replying to you regarding this question of yours for two reasons. One, I had hoped someone might have known the answer, and two, I have been searching for a photo of a patch I once owned, but have not been able to find. Now that stated, the emblem on the helmet looks very much like a Kuwaiti Anti-Aircraft battalion insignia. It may be a long stretch, but I wonder if it is possible that the helmet is an old helmet sent to Kuwait pre 1961 when independence was achieved. Britain provided much support for the Kuwaiti military and they were armed with British weapons and uniforms. Perhaps it is possible that the helmet was retained over the years and had the emblem painted on in the late 20th century before the invasion by Iraq. This is only a guess. Should I eventually find the picture of the patch I will show it to you.
Best regards from New Zealand
