WW1 Line Infantry: Complete!
Hi all
Well, I've finally completed my WW1 Line Infantry O/R's cap badge series. I'm looking to get them framed at some point soon, so if anyone has the time/inclination to give them the once-over I would really appreciate it. I'm confident they are all genuine, but if anyone sees anything "iffy", or suspect please let me know http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...p?albumid=1963 Thnx Colin

Hi Colin
I am no expert on WW1 cap badges, but it looks to me that you have a fine collection there ! Congratulations, and thank you very much for sharing them with us. Regards. Jeff |

I used to have a framed display of all the WW1 infantry badges, one of the things I regret having let go. Its a great theme for a collection.

Fortunately that's all behind me (by nearly 40 years) but I'm delighted to see that one can still complete such a collection. Well done |

Nice collection Colin,
I sold my first set, to fund another group of badges, unlike Julian, I did not include Territorial Infantry but like him, I did include the R.M.L.I and the five Guards regiments. I have started again and this time I have, so far, 47 badges !!! I think they are a great group to collect in ones own time so, onwards and upwards ? Dave.

My grandfather got me started collecting with the 1914 line infantry. Strangely, nobody in the family served with any of those regiments.
It certainly represents a lot of history and the service of so many young men. Phil

Colin, it's your collection we are celebrating not mine. I'm embarrased at being such a computer dunce because I meant to add a reference / link or whatever, not a very large photograph - sorry !

Yes, nice set Colin, and you have the correct East Lancashire with the low set slider for WW1. I'm nearly there myself, but have been looking for the last couple, but with all the right features and little to no rub wear.
Should have it buttoned up by years end or sooner I hope. Simon. |

Hi guys
Thanks for all the comments and feedback! I'm really pleased to have completed this collection, and look forward to getting it framed I want to thank all the members who have helped me achieve this and have put up with my persistence! When I joined the forum my mission statement was to complete this frame, and the help and guidance I've been given has been invaluable. Cheers all! Colin
