As the title suggests, it covers ' Colonies,Protectorates and Dependencies ',
Australia and New Zealand long since failed to qualify. |

Considering Australian and NZ were colonies once, its a valid question since you didn't mention what time period the book covers.

I believe that, like Australia and New Zealand, South Africa was left out. It is a shame, because pre 1910 South Africa was not a country and consisted out of 4 different colonies. Anyway whatever is put down in a book is good and at least some more areas are covered. Regards Andrew

Buying the book
I've just tried to buy a copy from Waterstones. Don't bother the shops do not stock it and they can't find it on their online database despite the fact it is listed there. Perhaps I'm too early?

Good evening.
For information, Barry Renfrew was at Farnham, last Sunday, walking around selling the book, can't remember the price, but certainly at a discount for those purcased on the day with cash. From overheard conversations, dealers and customers alike all seemed impressed with the content. Not my field though, so I can't comment. Regards Brian |

Any further thoughts on this? Mine arrived today - bought via Amazon from publishers.
It's a lovely book crammed full of great pictures of all sorts of obscure badges from all over the world. BUT - the Arab section is also crammed full of errors - which always leads me on to wonder if the rest of the book is also ... if it is then a great opportunity has been missed. Eddie |
