hi mike,
my holy grail is not metal but cloth.it is a ww2 belgian nurses badge from the belgian army that was stationed here from 1944-45. the badge shows a man jumping a gate,similar to the gates used by the army bdgs etc when stationed here philip http://www.be4046.eu/index1.htm

Berwick upon Tweed Militia Badge, only ever seen fakes, not even sure they really exist... 1st Berwick upon Tweed Volunteer Artillery, not even my good friend Norman Litchfield had one.

Like Philip, My holy grail is cloth, but not just one piece. There are several out there... maybe even a piece, as Donald Rumsfeld put it, the unknown we don't know we don't know about...(badly paraphrased).
One item that is out there, and on my list is a 3 CTB, 10 CTR printed patch.

Holy Grail
My Holy Grail would be Proof or otherwise that there was an actual Australian Corps of Signals 1930 Cap badge (No Scroll at the bottom) and pair of matching collar dogs which there is proof of.
Out of this world would be and OSD set !!!!!!!! Cheers Chris Walker

My Holy Grails - the four badges I need to complete my CEF 1-260 Infantry collection: 9th, 73rd, 215th and 247th. All of these come available now and then but the prices have been crazy - for example, I know where I could get a 247th right now but the price is simply not fair...I guess King Arthur wouldn't have cared about cost though!

Quest For The Holy Grail
I really have had to think about this. Many of the badges I could name are really either just too rare, too expensive, or both. A quest for them could easily turn into a Monty Python production. I would settle for a 1st Allied Airborne patch, theatre made. I'm saving my pennies even as I write. And, for once, I know where to look. It finally came to me: 26th Cavalry Philippine Scouts, a matched pair of US DUI. A British 1st Kings Dragoon Guards, pre-1914. Rare is relative to where you are. One is gradually working its way up my to-buy list

New Zealand Tunnelling Company collar
To join the happy hopefuls:
My Holy Grail is the New Zealand Tunnelling Company officer's collar badge. It is the typical bronze flaming bomb of the Royal Engineers but instead of UBIQUE on the scroll, has the Maori translation, INGA WAHI KATOA. Cheers, Tinto
