Default Middlesex VTC

I have a Middlesex VTC cap badge with the normal lugs which are found on these badges, but it is Gilding metal and has not had a bronze finish applied.

Is this normal , or a fake?

Your thoughts appreciated, thanks for looking.

Rob

Rob,

I have never seen a non bronzed one before, but as you say, it has those typical Middlesex VTC lugs and I dont recall seeing any fakes of any Regiment fitted with those loops yet.

regards

Simon, Thanks for your thoughts on this badge, it is a bit of a puzzler to say the least, unfinished possibly, copy (IMO very well done) maybe.

I have had several of these badges and all have been bronze finished, one I will hang onto this badge even as a curiosity as I do collect Middlesex items.

Rob,

I agree with Simon; I'd be very happy with it.

The finish is unusual, but I have seen a wide variety of finishes on these badges. My own slidered version (in my VTC album) is very 'brassy', compared with my lugged version which is more definitely bronzed.

A nice badge!

Tim
