Default Buttons of 42nd Foot

1:Pewter open backed excavated condition circa 1755.
2:Pewter open backed by I Nutting Covent Garden 1800-1840.
3:Pewter open backed by I R Pearse London,excavated in the Crimea 1850s.
4:Officers copper gilt coatee button gilt completly absent.Star and 42 numeral
are hand engraved into button.Circa 1800.
5:Brass rhomboid shaped button for the short lived plastron front jacket
open backed no makers marks 1855-1856.
6:Large size other ranks in brass by Smith & Wright Birmingham 1870-1881.
7:Small size other ranks in brass by Firmins ltd London 1870-1881.
8:Small size officers copper gilt by Stephen Simpson Preston 1850-1881.
9:Large size officers copper gilt by Firmin & Sons Ld London gilt absent
1850-1881.
Have just added close up of no4 button,also no1 button is the last in line up.
