These badges were worn by the teachers of the Army Section of Bournemouth School CCF up to the 1990s.

Hi PL, your not being pedantic, just setting the record straight and increasing every ones knowledge.

Sorry but your pedantry is misplaced. The embroidered RAC badge, when worn by the officers of BS CCF, was only worn by teachers. I can name them all and the subjects they taught.
To my knowledge BS CCF were the only CCF to wear the RAC cap badge as their 'sponsor' was the RAC centre at Bovington camp. The school switched to the RLC circa 1990 who were more supportive. |

To helpfully answer the original question, ACF cadets affiliated to the Wessex Yeomanry have been wearing the RAC cap badge for a couple of years due to the problem with the RWxY cap badge. You would need to check with them whether the cadet officers wore the embroidered version or not.

I don't do "Twitter" but I came across this mention of a RAC officer's bullion on a Twitter account (while web surfing Indonesian badges), a post from April 2020:
@sps4d Apr 15 Replying to @nicholadrummond RAC Capbadge is used by trainees at the RACTR and there is 1 x Officer who wears the Officer bullion version (I had them made). It anyone's interested in more detail it may be worth their while contacting @sps4d his post is here, 15th April: http://www.users.globalnet.co.uk/~thinred/catalogue.htm |
