Default 1st VB DCLI

Hello all,

Today I returned the dubious 1st Monmouths that I showed on here a couple of weeks ago with no problems.

I have now been offered, on sale or return, a badge for the 1st Volunteer Battalion of The Duke Of Cornwall's Light Infantry. I'm not sure about it as I can find nothing similar in my books &, to be fair to him, the person offering it to me has also said that he's unsure too.

Any thoughts?

Cheers

Steve

Steve, I think it's a genuine DCLI badge with a duff scroll added at the bottom.

Cool 1st VB DCLI

I think I would be unsure as to the authenticity of this 1st VB DCLI, especially with a Lambourne marked slider, as I understand Lambourne only made cap badges during the Great War when demand was high.

I think they made swagger stick tops before the Great War, but I may be wrong.

The lack of underscore under the O in Co is cause for concern.

The whole badge is a fake, made to deceive.

I agree with Simon, whole thing is fake including the makers mark.

I don’t recall seeing a fake Lambourne mark until the mid/late 2000s so I suspect it’s of far more modern manufacture and chemically aged.

Cheers,
Luke
