Default 26th Stanstead Dragoons tunics

Would love to see any old photos of this unit wearing these ackets circa 1912. We have here and Officers patrol jacket and a EM's two pocket 7 button Serge...both Red with Black facings....

I visited the Stanstead museuma few years ago but they had no photos of 26th.
I have this cap in my collection.


edit - Forgot I had this one also. Both in my collection. Note the velvet band which was peculiar to the 26th.

The velvet band hides a terrible secret!!!

It hides a 13th Scottish Light Dragoons cap!



Officer level recycling?

It's light stitched all around and fixed with 2 pins in the front, behind the cap badge.

I have quite a few nicely detailed pictures at the museum on which you can see their accouterments in detail (and lack of conformity).

I'll post some parts to show details... because of the lack of resolution available on the forum.

D's; 1908 to 1913 Lieutenant-Colonel commanding 13th Scottish Light Dragoons; 1913 acting brigadier 2nd Cavalry Division; Turner Shield was won four years in succession during his term of command, General Williams in a letter stating that his regiment was best he had inspected in Dominion; on outbreak of war, 1914, volunteered his services; became associated with late Col. Baker in organizing 5th C.M.R. as 2nd in command; later O.C. Reinforcing Camp, 3rd Can. Div., France; married Jessie, daughter of C. W. Humphrey, Dec., 1896.
