Hi folks!

Cataloging again.

Tudor crown over ERI cipher button, made by Smith & Wright Ltd from Birmingham.

Thanks!

Hi Patrick

I think they had several Colonial/Commonwealth uses. If you want one close to home, how about the Canadian Mounted Rifles, early 1900's. They were the first pattern worn, before they became "Royal". (I think the regt later became Lord Strathcona's Horse).

Hello Patrick

I agree with David, this is possibly a 'generic' colonial/commonwealth button but considering where you are (and presumably where the button was found)his suggestion of Canadian Mounted Rifles 1901-03 seems a very good bet!

The 'E' would be for King Edward VII, by the way.

Regards
Roger
