Default wRAF cap badges

Hello! I am Brettne from Texas and I'm researching family history. I have in my possesion my great grandmother's hat and hat badge from WWI. She was a nurse of some sort thru the WRAF, enlisted in 1918. That is all I know. I can't seem to find her particular cap badge anywhere on line and am hoping that one of you may know why hers is so particular. It doesn't say RAF. It's similar to others that have an eagle holding 2 bundles of something in each foot and a flag hanging down the middle with stars above the head. What's different is that the circle holding the stars is a plain circle (which looks like a US navy symbol). The other RAF cap badges I've seen have a flower like circle of stars. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance! Brettne
