Nice item thanks Mike for showing ............funny though that it shows the RMR as it was First Canadian Army Troops (protecting the 1st Canadian Army HQ)....the ESSEX Regt. had been disbanded in March '44......the 15th Alberta Light Horse never saw combat...... and it shows the badge of the prancing horse of the 14th Canadian Hussars/Canadian Light Horse instead of the "regular" 8th Recce "maple leaf" badge.....

Not sure all viewers would know the abbreviation. It is Canadian Armoured Corps Reinforcement Unit. That may explain the inclusion of the Essex and 15 ALH badges, as both of these units had been absorbed by the reinforcement depot.

The reinforcement procedure was to send the personnel to the CACRU, from which they were dispersed to the forward RU's in France/Belgium. They were not sent directly to the units. There is a strong likelyhood that certain personnel were retained as a training cadre in the UK.
