Default 5th Dragoon Guards or 5th Inniskilling Dragoons??

Hi,

Can someone please help me in identifying which of the two attached pictures of buttons belong to the 5th Dragoon Guards or the 5th Inniskilling Draggons??

Your help and wisdom is much appreciated!

thank-you

Default 5th etc.

Hello Sean - Your left-hand button is 5th Dragoon Guards (Princess Charlotte of Wales's) 1902-1922 and your right-hand button is 5th Royal Inniskilling Dragoon Guards 1935 onwards. Please remember that the amalgamations caused some confusion in the use of the '5th' Dragoon Guards - the first button is clearly pre-amalgamation, the second is post-amalgamation. Hope that helps. Regards. David

Cheers David,

Many thanks for your help. I was just not sure which which was which!!

At least now I can match each button to the correct badges. It means I have a complete 5th Inniskilling Dragoons set - badge, collars, shoulder titles and buttons and I am now two thirds towards a complete (Princess Charlotte of Wales's) 5th Dragoons Set!

Thank-you

Sean
