Default A J Allen Maker Marked Badges

I have this Welsh Reg’t ORs example which appears right in itself, other than a strange colour difference between the crown & title scroll, but it does have the mm referred to on the shank. Any thoughts.
I would add that the colour of the metal for the shank is what you’d expect to find on older badges.

Hi Kevin,

Not one of the manufacturers listed in the 1914-1919 Board of Trade Labour Gazette.... http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...ghlight=Ticker so with the SH spelling I suspected either pre WW1 or 1920-22.

However, this website states the company was established in 1941
https://www.duedil.com/company/gb/00...ingham-limited the address is identical to Alan’s London Gazette link. If that’s correct then an unusual spelling for that period?

Cheers,
Luke

Alan,
Thanks for the information on the liquidation. I was just rather curious about a mm ORs badge. I have Lambourne examples & the Gaunt plaque type but have never come across this name for an ORs badge on anything Welsh related.
I had forgotten about it to be honest, just came across when I was going through this lot for the pre 1920 pattern stuff.
Hwyl,
Kevin

Hi Luke,
Thank you.
I should have thought of carrying out the company check myself. Can’t be 1898 pattern then, rather I suspect a later copy which would explain the difference in colour of the crown & title scroll and the fact that I couldn’t match the pattern of the crown with any other examples I have.
Coffion gorau,
Kevin
