Well that shows how little I know about badges!
I’m here to learn and many thanks for your help. Regards Andrew |

You can also find examples of this badge with a blank slider. Although the main body of the badge is exactly the same as the Firmin badge.

No - I don't think that Sir John Wills, Bart would have accepted anodised aluminium badges. These are officers' quality real metal (don't know the correct term) - and are a facing pair. Next time the BD Blouse ( H. Huntsman and Sons, 11 Saville Row, London W1 - 1 May 1947) surfaces I'll take some pictures of the collar badges. Mike

Mike,
Is it usual to have the Div signs both pointing the same way? regards

sorry Mike, didn't realise that it was an Officers BD. I'm sure that I've seen the collars in anodised.

Worn by 43 (Wessex) Inf Div the Wyvern invariably faced left (like the Scottish heraldic lion). I think the only official example of a Wyvern facing right was the post War sign (3rd Pattern Southwest District). This bright blue and yellow printed sign came in facing pairs. As always, I stand to be corrected! Mike
