After the Brigade ,into Divisions
A bit of a follow on from the Loyals thread.
At the end of the Brigade system the following 4 Infantry Regts were still in existance and hadnt been amalgamated. The Worcestershire Regt The Notts and Derbys Regt The South Wales Borderers and The Welch Regt Do we know whether they reverted back to their own badges or continue wearing their respective Brigade badges until they were amalgamated ? |

In the case of the South Wales Borderers and the Welch Regiment their amalgamation into the Royal Regiment of Wales took place on 11th June 1969 so only one year after the 'end' of the Brigade system in June 1968 and the formation of the Prince of Wales Division on 1 July 1968. The new regiment wore the cap badge of the Welsh Brigade so in the short period in which any other badges could be worn it would seem likely that only the Welsh Brigade badge was worn?

I would agree especially as +he RRW continued to wear the Bde badge for some years until their new was introduced in the early 70s. Cardiff OTC also wore it I think.

I didnt miss them out Jerry. They carried on into the Division system. I was trying to establish what badges were worn by the regiments that were amalgamated in the 70's after they came out of the Brigade system.
