Hi gents,
I asked the seller to confirm that this badge was indeed anodised aluminium. He confirmed that it was, however I was still sceptical as it doesn't look quite right for A/A. At least the above has put that one to bed for me . . . cast silver, eh? Regards all and best of the season. Bess |

Hi Guys,
A/A - note the black solder (possibly other material) used on early pieces and also crazing where the anodic crust is breaking from the aluminium on the upper part of the slider. Probably by Marples and Beasley - away from book/notes at the mo so may be someone can confirm? Colours all wrong - maybe they made a mistake at the factory. Interesting though in that I never found any official info about this badge there is anecdotal info that some were made as prototypes - see first chapter in book where this is written up. Regards, Chris |

OK I've had another word with Richy who has handled it, and it is pressed aluminium, Silvered in colour with painted gold centre, but does not compare with the Marples and Beasley sample.
