I've never been- would you recommend the museum? Looks like a partial image of a rope dog lead in your 1st picture. Regards, Paul.

It’s well worth a visit if you are interested in aircraft and the wider aspects of the RAF; limited displays of uniforms and insignia but there are a few nice items such as a tunic of Air Chief Marshal Dowding.

Some of those WRAF mannequins look like the 1972 display ones that were still on show at Hendon until a few years ago!

That’s not too unsurprising given the two museums are connected and draw upon the same collection.

It’s a great shame that so little of the actual militaria / uniform collection that they hold is on display. The reserve collection, as they term it, is absolutely vast.

Wardog the Museum is Excellent "TSR2" was posted here 1983 -86 and as Workshops, some of the Stands where locally made within the Workshops, by previous personnel and other components made to fix parts missing from exhibits, guess I'm biased!!

It is now housed in a Superb structure (previously in A type Hangers) these where dark, it is now Bright and airy!

Manchester has a Ghost, many people when shutting down the Hanger, turning off lights checking doors and such, have seen a face looking out at them through Cockpit window! Remember Chris (F.L.M.) comming into the Naafi one evening white as a sheet, you want to laugh when the story told but his face and colouring! checked any ribbing! (Did one of the lads get into the Aircraft and do it as a jest?? like to think that was so, as the story was known you couldn't pass the Aircraft without checking the Cockpit Windows!)

Driving to Museum you pass main gate, within 100 yards on Right is a cafe by Railway Station - good food and mugs of tea! Not sure of times now?

Well worth a visit and best to check you don't have to book before going down! All the best billy

I've been to COsford twice in the last three weeks and yes it is definitely worth a visit. The Cold War exhibition is imaginitive but not good for photographing the aeroplanes.

What's been said about a lack of uniforms, insignia and even flying clothing is true, very little attention is paid to it in pretty much every aviation museum. I think this is a great pity but no one tales any notice of me
