Does anyone know what would have been screwed to the bottom of this ? I've looked but cant seem to find anything .

I wonder if it was a 'bar' , possibly "Committee" or "Ladies Section" but I've not seen that type of attachment before ?

Possibly WWI overseas service chevrons in gilt and red and / or blue enamel.

Ww1 makes sense as it was in a box with ww1 medals that was pasted onto me. As for what went on it ??

I don't have any sweetheart badges with overseas chevrons attached, other members of the forum do (I think Tigerlily has a RA one), a Google search will show some examples.
On some the the chevrons are attached to the badge by an articulated fitting in order to lessen the risk of breakage. |
