Odd 16th Lancers battle honors badge
Measures about 1 3/4” x 8” silvered battle honors. What or how would it be used or displayed ?

Looks like it is probably the battle honours from an officers dress czapka plate.
I’m sure someone who has a copy of Rowe & Carman’s book and can confirm. |

Did they spell AFFGHANISTAN with double FF in those days?

It is the separate piece from the officer Czapka plate. I noticed the spelling error as well, but the piece looks original. Perhaps that is why it survived minus the rest of the plate as it is an error and never used?

I have an OR cap plate and the honors are displayed as shown on the Uniformolgy http://www.uniformology.com/LANCERS-02.html
Also the sort of little flags/banners on the lower left and right on the pictured example do not appear on my OR or the officers example on Uniformogy. The placement of the Afghanistan honor is also displayed in a different position. |

You will need someone with Rowe & Carman’s book to confirm the type and its date. |
