Have been searching for a medal with a 3 stripe ribbon like that and so far the closest is a Boer War medal, which I'm pretty sure she didn't earn. I am very curious though.

The NCO with the medal, I think she is wearing the WRAC cap badge with one WRAC collar badge visible.
The medal - Queens Silver Jubilee? Possibly worn on the right breast as it's that of a family member? Was that practise in vogue amongst serving military rather than just by next of kin at Remembrance Sunday etc back then during the days of the WRAC? |

As its on the 'wrong' side. could it be some kind of shooting medal - from Bisley or somesuch?

I did some more looking and feel pretty sure it is the Queen's Silver Jubilee medal. In enlarging the picture after seeing he medal ribbon, I can see the thinner outside black stripes.
