Default Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders

For a number of years I unknowingly had a duff version of this regiments badge as an example for The Great War. I see many different versions but hope my recent attempt might fit. I like the well fed cat and thistle storks but I'm ready to hear other opinions. I did notice the small split visible in rear pictures bellow right lug, but that alone does not put me off the badge. Regards, Paul.

Simple rule is tail up on the cat = an early badge. From memory the tail changed circa 1910 and subsequent dies had the cat sat on it's tail. I would say yours is correct.

As Alan mentioned, the cat tail officially changed sometime around 1910, but I am of the belief that the tail up OR badges were still being made and issued for some time after that.
This also applies to solid center badges which were still in wear through WW1 and even after.

Thank you Alan and Conrad. I assume the small split happened during manufacture, and so a good chance others exist the same. Regards, Paul.
