Sealed Pattern Card WRAC
Hello, I recently brought this Sealed Pattern Card as I had not seen this type before. I have checked Edwards & Langley but with no joy.
Can you give me any information about this other then what is on the card please? Engr9266 Jerry.

I think intended to be worn as a cap badge backing by WRAC officer cadets.
Male officer cadets wore a white Ivorine/plastic disc behind their cap badges. Tim

It's a good thing you aren't going to hit what you're looking at if you don't look down the sight...the girl second from left is looking at the camera(man)!!!

Wonder what was wrong with the White Plastic disc which looks like these girls are wearing, as there is no second Khaki border!!

The Sealed Pattern card is dated 1957 and for what head dress was it produced? At that date the WRAC wore a ‘large’ beret type made up from several pieces of fabric with the cap badge on a beech brown teardrop backing.
I said “intended” because I doubt it was actually worn in the form shown on the Sealed Pattern and perhaps the white plastic disc was preferred. However, it has had an NSN added which should indicate late 1960s or later use so there should be some photographic evidence? The khaki cloth is not part of the backing, it is ensure that the white cloth stands out from the card. It is (was) worn between the badge and the Tear Drop.

I saw a few WRAC Officer Cadets as well as Potential Officers who wore White Epaulet Strips at the various WRAC Companies attached to RAOC Depots. They were all based at the WRAC Depot Gilford but did short visits to other WRAC units.
