Default Uniform Wing Commander R.A.A.F

Hi picked this up this Uniform is in a Mint condition!

Is the Wing correct? for starters, checked pockets found this Identity Card and Belt, have the Trousers and Shirt to go with it, all Mint!

Rushed as dinner break, appreciate your thoughts Billy

Hi Steve thanks for your input, as mentioned belt was in the inner pocket and loose didn’t check rear of jacket? for any loops for this to go through? Jacket and trouser’s are well made, black lining and inner pocket to jacket, sadly no label anywhere to be seen, could it be somewhere obscure?

I think the Uniform is good and by the dates in the Identification card 1950,s early! period.

The padded Wing looks really good, stitching looks neat, but admit this is not my strong point by a mile, could you P.M. me with why it may be wrong?

Could this be a post War Wing?

Many thanks Billy

The wing is indeed a reproduction, the uniform is post war, probably rebuttoned as the lower button would have been a flat one which sat under the belt. Loose belts are post war. It also looks like the ribbons are glued on as l cannot see any stitching.

Have to check how Ribbons are attached? Are they correct?

Uniform good but post 50,s and bottom button wrong! Needs a Flat one? What would that look like?

Wing is wrong! Someone please p.m. me to explain that one!

Many thanks gents, am impressed by what can be found out on the Forum!

All the best Billy

Billy the ribbons are correct and the button is just a flat brass disc type button which was hidden by the belt thus the reason for it being flat. Hope this helps.

If he was Australian would he not have had an Australian Service Medal ribbon as well? Looks made up to me.
Cheers,
Alex
