The Oxford Rifles is good. The 51st Soo is bad. The 67th appears to be a cast badge?

I thought the Canadian Beavers badge was a brass badge, at least that's all I've ever seen? This one looks to be in white metal???

Hi Terry, that is an interesting comment. The only ones I have seen have the oxidized silver finish.

Bill, that is interesting then isn't it. I've found three I think at various dealers, already sold, but all were brass.

I don't recall where I got this picture as I saved it a while back to use as a reference, and thought it was a brass badge. From what you say, maybe it is just the light that gives a silver badge a yellow appearance?

I would like to get one for my women's army collection, but for now there are too many items ahead of it, and I need to complete those deals first. But it's on the list.

Terry

Hi Terry, I think the lighting may be the issue in the image you posted. It could be silver.

All the ones I've seen online are wm. Mine is oxidised silver wm as Bill puts it. Camera FLash is frequently a culprit

The badges were probably manufactured from brass, and then plated/anodized with a silver finish. My 2 cents worth.

I am not into metallurgy . I am comfortable with it being die-struck with back possibly die-cast, but not cast, if that makes sense

Default GGFG shoulder badge

I believe that in the past I have mentioned some of the items I am recently uploading. I don't see this as duplication but rather consider it as updating. Continually learning in this hobby!
Case in point is this item which I have recently come across as being a Militia period Governor General's Foot Guards shoulder badge but no further data. Would welcome more information as this badge has lain dormant for far too long

Default 4 CMR / CMRR badges

Re 4th CMR / CMRR badges: I need clarification here. Which is the earlier of the two - moose with CMR or with CMRR?
The Forum CEF site states CMRR is second pattern but Cox has CMRR as the first pattern . Confusing.
