British East Indies? WW II parachute wing
Here I have a (British?) parachute wing coming from an old Dutch collection. This type is unknown to me. Could be coming from the special ops unit that operated, from Ceylon, in the Dutch East Indies: Korps Insulinde, related to (not part of) Force 136. They got their airborne training in the British East Indies. But some were already parachute qualified in the UK before they were transferred to Insulinde. Any thoughts?

Certainly unusual and not similar to any para wings I have seen before. However, I do like the locally made construction and believe it to be WW2 era.

Also like the theater made look of these wings.

From my limited knowledge of Korps Insulinde I would say it would be a great bet for sure - very nice wing.
Congratulations ... Mike |

Apologies for weighing in late, Boes92, but I agree with my friends who have already commented — a well made, locally produced wing that in materials and construction resembles other wings from the KNIL period, 1942 through about 1947. If I ran across this wing as you did, I certainly would have bought it. Well done!
Best regards, Donovan
