Default FARELF Malaya flash

Guys,
does anyone have any specific info on whether the attached FARELF MALAYA flash was worn by a particular unit/organisation. Or is it most probably a private purchase item?
Does anyone else have similar?
Thankyou
Jon

Somewhat belated response but:

I have a sign with MALAYA in white - virtually identical to yours, another with COMMONWEALTH in yellow and a third with JOHORE BAHRU IN WHITE.

All are locally made, the COMMONWEALTH variant is very inaccurate - the sword has no tip to the blade and the hilt looks like a Christian cross!

I have always assumed that these were purchased privately to be worn on BD whilst on demob leave in UK by National Servicemen

I'll get round to it soon. Do you have a suitable email address?
