Non-Voided RFC Cap Badge
Hello gents,
I think this example is authentic but I'd really appreciate your opinions. I understand there are some good copies out there but I'm not certain what to look for. Thanks very much for any help you can provide. Roy |

Very fake sadly. Note the die flaw between the crown and F. These have been around since the 1970s so sad to say some of the earlier fakes have acquired convincing patina now being nearly 50 years old.

The die flaw!
I had completely forgotten about that. Thank you Luke! |

Happy to help. I do not believe this badge existed in unvoided form akin to RE and RA 1916 issues intended to save time/labour.
I’ve never seen one but if anyone did happen upon an unvoided RFC from a genuine die I would say it’s an unfinished badge rather than an issue item. Never say never of course but I think anyone seeking a genuine solid RFC badge is chasing rainbows. |

I don't understand how the fakers think have polish on the FRONT of the badge would make it look authentic???

Here is my RFC badge. Can you comment on this please? Cannot show rear of badge at this time as away from home at the moment.
