Evening All,

Can anyone give me any pointers on J.R.GAUNT LONDON(rectangular tablet)

What to look for Size Etc

They certainly did. It's always been my suspicion that Firmin and Gaunt worked hand in hand. Similar size font on their genuine branded sliders, slider shape, length etc.

The earliest Gaunt plaque on a KLR OR badge was the Foreign Service (1st Bn). It is almost certainly the first die (probably around 1896) . There are others that are curved - I'll get the dimensions for you later. There is also a small circular plaque on Lpl Scots piper's Glengarry badge (on my album) and on NCO sporrans - both 1908 Patterns.
