Hello from Norfolk.
Hello - Have been a collector of militaria of all sorts for many years - mostly aviation last couple of years - Get asked a lot by others about things I don't know about, and always enjoy the knowledge and help available on forums like this - for reference to the facts, or help finding them !!.
Hope to be able to contribute as well as look and learn. Jes |

Welcome
Thanks for the welcome - There are finds out there in Nfk, but not many ! I meant to say, one of the reasons I cut my badge collecting down was the number of re-strikes about. It seems likely that folks on here will be able to help i/d the good-uns.
On the history side - I suppose I ought to add, G'pa on mothers side ended up acting Major in the Territorials, by 1919. G'pa on dad's side ended up CSM. Green Howards early '20's (RIP 1943), having survived serious wounds at Driefontein 10/3/00, and dad was 6th (Singapore) A.A. Battery, H.K.S.R.A. Changi, then Fed Malay States VF, but (lucky for him) got sent to Blighty for surgery in 1940, or would have ended up somewhere else, and I probably wouldn't be here. Mothers uncle, Harold Homer was a Chief Mech on the Hood...aged 41. Finding my dads brass shoulder titles and his red and black flashes in a drawer when I was a kid was the spark (I wish I had them now) - lived in Nfk last 11 years, originally from Leicester Many thanks again for the welcome. Jes. |

Hi Jes,
Welcome to the forum. A great history there. Great to hear this has been something you have been interested in since a kid. I have only been researching my family history for the past few weeks, but I find I lose hours on the internet just bouncing from one site to another. Cheers, Matt |
