Its a Royal Engineers NCO's arm badge, still worn, comes in various materials.
Also worn in the Grenadier Guards by certain NCO's in conjunction with rank badges but in my experience these are usually all fawn brown in colour. Yours is typical of RE despite only 7 flames. regards

It only has seven flames where the Royal Engineers have NINE flames.
So it is possibly "Fusiliers" or "Grenadier Guards" or even Royal Artillery ??? engr9266

Grenades with nine or seven flames
Top row nine flame types for Royal Engineers, lower rows seven flames for Grenadier Guards.

I have to disagree. Where are your WW1 and WW2 khaki RE NCO's badges with 9 flames? I dont believe they were used and they use dthe ubiquitous 7 flame type, unless anyone can produce multiple badges or photographic evidence because there were a lot of RE NCO's in the 50+ years that SD was worn, thousands and thousands, but where are their 9 flamed khaki badges? regards

Simon,
I am sure you are correct that the seven flame grenade was worn by RE SNCOs before the introduction of a nine flame type which, looking at my examples, seems to be from the early 1960s. Tim

The only official grenade badge for RE Service Dress (later Battle Dress) was the Universal Brass Grenade, which is listed in the PVCN.
I have yet to see any image of the cloth seven flamed version being worn by any RE SNCO. Marc

I have this image of a seven flame grenade that was described as Sergeant RE but from what period of time this is unknown. It also looks printed.
