Default Some patches from African days gone by.

A small group of patches picked up along the way to one of my interests. Colonial era Africa.

EAA....East African Airways Pilot wings and hat badge. Headquartered in Nairobi Kenya.
Operated from 1946 until 1977. It was run by a consortium of countries. Kenya Tanzania and Uganda. Of note it was the airline the future Queen Elizabeth flew on her first leg home upon the death of her father King George VI. Sadly it also had a plane crash on Mt Kilamanjaro, May 18th, 1955 losing all 20 onboard.

WAAC... West African Airway Corporation... I believe this is a cap badge...The airline Operated from 1946 to 1958. Jointly owned by four British West Afican colonies,.. The Gambia, Gold Coast, Nigeria and Sierra Leone. The airline had close ties to the BOAC. It was based in Nigeria.

Lastly a blazer patch from the Mt Kenya Safari Club. Founded in 1959... It became a stop in the Jet Setters itinerary of the time. The American actor William Holden was a part owner and frequent quest at the club.

Please feel free to add other items of similar interest to this thread would love to see them Jack
