Smile Thoughts

The Army Cyclist Corps I think is a modern strike (the name on the slider is an addition to give authenticity.
The Marines collar is fresh, from stores or Birmingham . . . !

BC,
I would have to agree here, I afraid. I think that the Cyclist Corps is a possible dud, also.
Mainly though,if these came from the same board as the others, shown B4, without any comparatively similar aging, then I would have to withdraw any support for their possible origionallity as well. ( Though will still show some definitely origional badges with "similar" age discolouring, at a future time. )
That type of faked aging is not prevalent here in NZ ...yet ! But will know a little of what to look out for, if & when they do appear ! (Still learning ,after almost 40 years of collecting )
Still thanks for showing these ,though no doubt the results are dissapointing ?
Any more ?
Cheers !
Steve

The RM collar looks fine EXCEPT for the fact that it has been painted, plated or gilded. The reverse definition is very good. The Cyclists however does not as the back is blurred so I would not be happy with that one at all but again the gold obscures any genuine age or patina. What has been done to them?

Hi guys
Thanks for the replies.
I'm not sure what has happened to some of the badges and buttons from this pick up but these badges were also part of the collection.
German plate, almost rusted through, genuine
Australian signals badge (100% genuine I have been told. Look at the condition of the front as opposed to the rear. The same look as the other white metal badges shown)

Not much wrong with the RM collar badge, boxes of these and black plastic ones were sold off by the MoD in 1992.

The ACC is a fake, what I dont like about it is the flash on the bottom of the silder. I do think RM collars have never been faked.
