New Book - Indian Badges
Hi All,
Ashok Nath, who brought out the book Izzat on the Indian Cavalry is coming out with a book called Sepoys and Sowars - In the the Great War of 1914-19.. I got a preview when Ashok was in Bangalore last month. The book details war services, brief history, battle honours of all regiments during the Great War. The most intereting thing to me though as a small-time badge collector is that he also gives illustrations of cap and pouch badges/shoulder titles/buttons of every regiment some of which have never apparelty be published. So would be a good help to collectors. I was thrilled to find that he's actually managed to get a badge to the Aden Troop, which was not there in his earlier book IZZAT. Hope I get that badge some day! However, the book is a limited editon and those interested will have to get in touch with him PS: No Personal Interest here. Thought I would let everybody know since its |

Hi Khyber,
Thanks for the information. Do you know how many pages in the book? Cheers, Tinto |

280 pages - 1200 colour images - I believe the book itself is limited to 300 numbered copies. Tim

The thing to remember with quality references is that in many ways they themselves become collectible in their own right. Especially with a limited run going to all four corners of the collecting globe.
Plus, the knowledge imparted by and the joy the gaining of said knowledge for the reader will soon erase any temporary fiscal pain that may arise. I am very pleased such titles are still being produced. |

I emailed the author on the address provided but have had no reply. Just wondering if anyone has had any replies yet or further details? Cheers, Roy.
