Default Militaria Websites

Hi guys as from July Concept500 websites will be shut down as the web host provider is retiring this affects nearly all dealers sites who use concept500.
My site Watling militaria will be affected unless I can find a new web host or possibly a new site.
I will let people know when I have decided what to do

Wow! I'm surprised no one else has commented about this news.

This is huge and has the potential to cause a major disruption to our hobby.

Most of the better dealers all have Concept500 shops and have invested many, many hours in uploading their stock and setting up their online shops.

What this means is that nearly all the dealers will have to find and setup a new online shop (if they decide to) which is a massive undertaking - it's never easy to setup a new online shop from scratch. It takes time and can be costly to get it right. Concept500 was good in that it offered an easy to run online shop at I assume reasonable rates.

Potentially this is a big disruption to our hobby. We could potentially find many of our favourite dealers having no online shops after concept500 shuts down.

I could have commented roughly the same as you did (much of what you said came to my mind reading it), but that would not be of any help I assume.

The concept500 main website also mentions nothing about closing down.

Malc - did you get an email about this from them?

I hope dealers start planning for this now otherwise come July people may start to find many of their favourite dealer online shops being down.

Looks like Paul Laidlaw trading as WD Militaria is going to be busy! His concept500 site
http://www.wdmilitaria.co.uk/shop.php is showing 15,436 items!
