Default SRW Boer War cutout

Has anyone got a genuine SRW badge with provenance to compare with this one I picked up from an old collector this week. I have my doubts about this one , especially as there are known fakes around. Always a problem with cutouts-no two seem to be exactly the same.
Regards
Mike

Hi Mike,
This one looks exactly like the one George English has in Cape Town and he got his one directly from the guy who manufactured them in the Salt River railway workshops in the 1970's. I understand a badge of these were made and distributed to the known collectors at the time.

Thanks, Steven. I'm hoping that someone with a verified example will come forward so that we can have a 'gold standard' and it will become more difficult for the bad ones to be passed off , especially on the net ( bid or buy etc.) .
Regards
Mike

Hi Mike,
I have never seen a good one. If it were not for George I would have assumed them to be genuine. The guy who made the copies was a real metal craftsman and had access to genuine ones to copy, so I have been told.
