A couple of new York and Lancs arrivals
I thought I would share a couple of newly acquired and not very common York and Lancaster badges.
Firstly, a 2nd VB OSD badge. Not in use for very long (1902-1908) and different in that most Y&L VB officers badges were made in silver. I suppose this could be attributed to an example of VB officers privately purchasing their own badges. https://www.yorkandlancasterregiment...imit=12&page=2 Secondly, what appears to be a Gaunt MM normal Tiger and Rose badge but has a right facing Tiger. Its not a collar badge (there doesn't seem to be any evidence of them being worn in facing pairs) and has normal OSD cap badge blades. https://www.yorkandlancasterregiment...imit=12&page=2 Hope you find the pictures useful. That right facing Cat and Cabbage is very intriguing. With those blades, it must be a cap badge. Is this possibly an error badge?
Always have been fond of the Young and Lovely, a proud regiment that took the very admirable choice, as did the Cameronians, of disbandment rather than be relegated to the fate of rest. CB

Yes, very intriguing but clearly worn as a cap badge. Its these oddities that make the hobby more interesting.

Well, that photo says it all. They were worn. Inexplicable variation that was apparently accepted.
